Kevin and Theresa (Kuckelman) '80 McDermed

Kevin and Theresa McDermed are longtime supporters of 莫尔哔叽 Hill-Mount Academy.  Theresa, a Mount St. Scholastica alumna, served on the MH-MA parent board from 2010–2014 and the 校友 Association board from 2015–2019. She was integral in the renovation of St. Leo's Hall and helped renovate the basement of the administration building. Kevin is the chief financial officer of Exchange Bank in Atchison. He served as treasurer on the MH-MA board from 2003–2009 and 2018–2024. The McDermeds sent their three children to 莫尔哔叽 Hill-Mount Academy and believe that 天主教 education prepares students for college and the future while learning values and principles in an environment that supports and encourages their continued growth in the 天主教 faith.

Alumnae of the Year

Twenty-eight women from the classes of 1980 and 1981 formed a treasured sisterhood while boarding at Mount St. Scholastica Academy. Magdalena Morales, Ivette Acosta, and their friends come from all over Mexico and now live all over the world. 在COVID, they reunited over WhatsApp and have started an annual reunion to celebrate their friendship made in small town Atchison. Their story inspired our theme for the evening, "Friendships that Span the Globe." They embody our mission of what it means to be a 天主教, college preparatory boarding school that changes lives.
